I have never blogged before, so please bear with me. I am a Spurs fan and I live in S.A. I was at the game last night and I saw what happened between Horry and West. First off I am not 100% certain if Horry was throwing a cheap shot or not, I would like to believe he was not, BUT the thing that concerns me the most is when the crowd started chantting Horry's name. I feel let down by my fellow fans and I have never experienced such shame for being a Spurs fan. For what it is worth please accept my heartfelt apology from the San Antonio fans. The Spurs club is a classy one, in my opinion, and I am sorry that the Hornets did not witness that last night. Good luck in game 7.

Quote:INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 10 (AP) -- Mike Dunleavy scored 20 points to lead Indiana to a 101-96 victory over New Orleans on Wednesday night in Jim O'Brien's exhibition debut as Pacers coach.

Jeff Foster had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana while Danny Granger added 11 points and eight rebounds.

David West led New Orleans (1-1) with 17 points and Hilton Armstrong added 16.

O'Brien said all summer the Pacers would push the tempo, and it didn't take long for the home fans to see what he meant. Dunleavy scored 15 points in the first quarter to help the Pacers take a 27-16 lead.

Indiana opened the second quarter on a 9-2 run and the Pacers continued to pour it on and led 55-35 at halftime.

New Orleans erased much of that deficit early in the third quarter. The Hornets went on a 13-0 run to get within 64-61, but the Pacers recovered. A 3-pointer and a layup by Troy Murphy, then a 3-pointer by Dunleavy bumped the lead back to 72-64. Indiana led 77-66 at the end of the period.

The Hornets cut Indiana's lead to 84-79 with 7:22 to go, but Andre Owens scored a basket and a three-point play to make it 89-79, and the Pacers led by at least five points the rest of the way.

The Pacers outrebounded the Hornets 60-41, though New Orleans' best rebounder, Tyson Chandler, did not play.

The Pacers played without All-Star forward Jermaine O'Neal, who was injured Monday when he collided with Shawne Williams during practice. O'Brien said the knee swelled, and O'Neal woke up sore on Wednesday morning. O'Brien considered playing him, but took him out of the lineup about an hour before game time. The injury isn't considered serious.

O'Neal tore cartilage in the same knee last season and had surgery to repair it in April.

Hilton Armstrong is having a very nice preseason! I'm glad he's getting some big minutes because we'll need him to mature fast when we start to head into the final stretch of the season, usually that's when we get a load of injuries.

Quote:OKLAHOMA CITY, Oct. 9 (AP) — It was only fitting that the New Orleans Hornets' return to their temporary home will be remembered as a comeback.

Chris Paul scored 14 points and Hilton Armstrong had 10 of his 12 in the second half as the Hornets rallied from a 21-point first-quarter deficit to beat the Houston Rockets 94-92 Tuesday night in the preseason opener for both teams.

After Bobby Jackson drove for a layup to give the Hornets an 81-80 lead midway through the fourth quarter, Armstrong followed with a left-handed layup and Peja Stojakovic drilled a 3-pointer to push the lead to six.

The Rockets, playing their first game under new coach Rick Adelman, closed within 88-87 but had their chance to take the lead thwarted when newcomer Luis Scola was called for an offensive foul.

Stojakovic had 13 points on 5-for-13 shooting after missing most of last season after back surgery.

Yao Ming led the Rockets with 13 points in 17 1/2 minutes, and Tracy McGradyhad four points and three turnovers in 15 1/2 minutes.

A crowd of 6,324 was on hand at the Ford Center, where there was a capacity crowd for 30 Hornets games over the past two seasons after their temporary relocation forced by Hurricane Katrina.

"It feels good just to get the chance again to say hello and goodbye again to some of the best fans that I've ever been around,'' Hornets coach Byron Scott said before the game.

But the Hornets, who were eliminated from the playoff race in the final week each of the last two seasons, needed some time to shake off their offseason rust.

New Orleans missed 17 of its first 19 shots and committed 10 turnovers to trail 30-9 after one quarter. Tyson Chandler scored the first three points of the game, but New Orleans was then outscored 24-6 during a 9 1/2-minute field goal drought.

Houston was able to maintain its lead while McGrady, Yao and Steve Francis remained in the game, but the Hornets started coming back as the Rockets' front-line players remained on the bench in the second half.

Chandler's two free throws capped a run of nine straight points to get New Orleans within 54-49, and the comeback was completed when second-round pick Adam Haluska hit back-to-back jumpers to start the fourth quarter to tie it at 70.

Haluska scored 12 points, including two free throws with 9.3 seconds left, in his debut and first-round pick Julian Wright had three points and eight rebounds in nine minutes.

Draft picks Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry didn't play for the Rockets, who fired Jeff Van Gundy after amassing the fourth-best record in the Western Conference before blowing a 2-0 lead against Utah in the first-round of the playoffs last season.

Great comeback buy these young Hornets, and I'm very glad that the great fans in Oklahoma City are getting a chance to see this team play again. Maybe the team should permanently play their home preseason games in Oklahoma City?
