New Orleans Hornets can start calling free agents…

Beginning this morning, NBA general managers, including the Hornets’ Dell Demps, can contact the agents for potential free-agent signees, the league informed member clubs Tuesday night. Also, the NBA instructed teams to open their practice facilities to players under contract beginning Thursday for informal workouts, meaning some Hornets players could decide to work out on their own at that time and in the days before the start of training camp Dec. 9.
