Hornets sale hits snag?

It’s been expected that the New Orleans Hornets will be sold to minority owner Gary Chouest, but Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears tweeted last night that NBA Commissioner David Stern said " it’s not a given at all " that Chouest will complete purchase of Hornets and that the process "taking a long time." The New Orleans Times Picayune reports that Chouest, who supposedly agreed on the sale with current owner George Shinn last week, is still expected to become the team’s majority owner .

Hornets interview Thibodeau, Jackson for coaching vacancy

Boston Celtics associate head coach Tom Thibodeau took time out of the team’s current battle against the Cleveland Cavaliers to interview for the head-coaching job for the New Orleans Hornets yesterday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Thursday, the Hornets also interviewed ESPN analyst Mark Jackson, who recently told the Philadelphia 76ers that he wasn’t interested in being considered for their head-coaching opening. The Hornets have interviewed five candidates since Tuesday in order to try and beat out the other four teams looking for a head coach right now

Hornets seek permission from Blazers and Jazz

The New Orleans Hornets aren’t alone in the search for a new head coach and the team has apparently identified four of the gentlemen it would like to take over for Jeff Bower who Hornets fans have got to hope does a better job in the front office than he did on the coaching sidelines. One of the men the Hornets may end up hiring is former Houston Rockets coach and New Orleans native Avery Johnson. He team also is apparently talking to Mavs assistant coach Dwane Casey, who also supposedly has some interest from the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers
