The New Orleans Hornets, 121-89 losers to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, finished seventh in the Western Conference by virtue of the Memphis Grizzlies’ 110-103 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
New Orleans will open the NBA playoffs this weekend against the second-seeded Los Angeles Lakers, who finished as the No. 2 team in the West by beating the Sacramento Kings, 116-108 in overtime.
The NBA announced the schedule early Thursday morning. The first game will be Sunday afternoon in Staples Center at 2:30 CST, televised by ABC.
Game Two will be Wednesday night at 9:30 CST, televised by TNT.
Games Three and Four in New Orleans will be Friday and Sunday, each starting at 8:30 CST. The Friday game will be televised by ESPN and the Sunday game by TNT.
The final three games, if necessary, are as follows:
Five, at Los Angeles, April 26.
Six, in New Orleans, April 28.
Seven, in Los Angeles, April 30.
Times and TV networks for Games Five, Six and Seven are yet to be determined.
